A Rat Hole?

I was at a truck stop in Missouri and parked next to an open corn field.  I was doing my log book when I caught something move out of the corner of my eye.

Out the window and just ten feet from my front tire was a hole in the ground.  I watched for awhile but never saw anything.  Then, I caught another glimpse of movement.  I pulled out the camera and decided to try and capture the little critter on film.

I saw his nose stick out the hole but the above picture is all I got.  Then he ran across from one hole to the other.

I knew if I was patient, I could catch a good shot, but he was fast…

That’s when I found that there were more than just one rat in the rat hole.

Thinking I could lure one out, I tossed a big piece of bread out near the hole…  Holy Toledo…

I got my picture!…  I think he was happy to give me the picture too…  LOL

Busy Week - Slow Posting

I must say, I feel bad that I have let a week go by without updating the blog.  Sometimes, when you stop at the end of the day, all you want to do is go to bed, and that’s how I have been this past week.

Ran that load up to Indiana last Monday, dead-headed up to the Green Bay area and grabbed a load coming back to Texas.  Looks as if I am running the same thing again this week, so I better post now before I get too tired again.

Things at the CBO Christian Bloggers Online have been doing very well.  We lost two members due to deletion of their domain names, but we still have well over 60 blogs on the roll in just two months.

Ok, back on the road…

Rosie Had A Good Day

DSC00881 Yesterday, Rosie and I had to stop at the main yard in Texas.  They always inspect the truck, trailer and load as well as all my files and documents.

In preparation for our visit, I gave Rosie a real good bath, polished her wheels and cleaned her engine.  She was looking real good.

At the yard, I gave the keys to the shop and went into the safety office.  If I have been doing something wrong, now is when they tell you.  Safety said I was good to go with no violations and no problems.  That’s a good thing.

I went back to the shop where they had given Rosie the once over.  They told me she looked real good, they tightened up her exhaust, gave her the new logos on her doors and gave her some new red flags for her front fender.  That’s a good thing too.

All in all, Rosie and I had a good day at the yard.

Howdy

hello Howdy, hello, how ya doing?, good morning….

These are greetings I use everyday.  I say hello to everybody.  In the south, everybody responds with a howdy, hello, I’m good or good morning right back at ya.

Today, I am in a strange land where beer is strong, taxes are high and nobody speaks.  I think they are all depressed because winter is coming and it’s going to get so cold here that polar bears would move away.

It’s hard to get a laugh out of these people.  Even when I placed one of their stupid "Cheese Head Hats" on my bald head and paraded around the restaurant, they just looked at me like I was nuts.

Well, there is no worry about me moving my stuff to Wisconsin anytime soon.  Until these people loosen up a bit, I’ll just stick with Texas, Tennessee and the good ole south.
