Shariah-Compliant Finance

Posted by: Gib@CBO | Comments (0)

While America struggles with the sub-prime and credit market crisis, Shariah Islamic Finance, also known as Shariah-Compliant Finance, is quickly infiltrating our financial markets – and bringing Islamic shariah law with it.  As one leading Islamic authority on Shariah-Compliant Finance has stated, it is “jihad with money.” In a new ACT! for America video, Joy Brighton, ACT! for America’s financial expert on Shariah-Compliant Finance, warns America of this chilling threat.

Blogrolling.com update

Posted by: Gib@CBO | Comments (0)

As you may know, Blogrolling.com has had a few problems this past two months.  This is the latest news from the Blogrolling.com desk.

Whither Blogrolling 2.0?

Thursday is a big day at Blogrolling HQ. Thursday marks the end of our second development cycle (or “sprint” for the Agilists out there).

If everything looks good, we will quickly be in a position to launch a beta of Blogrolling 2.0 fairly quickly. If not, we might need one more cycle of iteration to get it ready for limited public use.

The team is doing awesome work and I’m really looking forward to being able to share it with you. You can count on another update sometime on Thursday.

Heavy lifting done by the good folks at Tumblr

Thanks Blogrolling for getting things back in order.  We depend greatly on you.

Disclaimer for bigdadgib@bigdadgib.net

Posted by: Gib@CBO | Comments (0)

I did not send out thousands of e-mails.  They did not come from my server, my computer or my e-mail client.

I am aware of 1489 emails that were sent from several IP addresses originating in Russia, New Zealand, Switzerland and Argentina that appeared to have come from my address … bigdadgib <at> bigdadgib.net, but they DID NOT.

They only way I became aware of the 1489 e-mails was that they were sent to addresses that no longer worked, the in box was full or the address was typed wrong.

I am only guessing, but if 1489 e-mails failed, I can only assume that there were thousands of letters that DID go through.  What was in them?  I have no earthly idea.

Again, let me stress… I did not send out thousands of e-mails.  They did not come from my server, my computer or my e-mail client.

Evacuation Is Not The Option

Posted by: Gib@CBO | Comments (1)

Hurricane Ike I saw this happen time and time again when I lived in Miami.  The authorities would give the warnings and scream to evacuate.  The highways would clog with traffic, people run out of gas on the road, accidents everywhere and then the storm would go south or north, missing Miami completely.  The next warning, they did nothing.

People in Galveston fell into the same trap.  Many times in recent history, they were told to get out, rush to safety or face death.  When the storm never hits, the next time they do not heed the warnings.

When hurricane Andrew did destroy most of south Florida, we packed our bags and moved.  My wife went to Colorado and I went back to Georgia.  Nobody had to tell us that we didn’t want to go through that again.

More responsibility needs to be placed on people who live in these areas.  Any gulf coast city is in danger of flooding, storms, hurricanes and disaster.  If you have a problem with storms, flooding and such, don’t move there.

Take the responsibility of making that choice to live in a dangerous place.  You should not depend on the government to come get you.  You should not count on the police to save you.  You should not look for a welcome wagon to come by and feed you.  If you leave before the storm, great.  If you stay, you are on your own.  If you don’t want to be bothered by evacuations, storms and death, do not move into these places to begin with.

My dad told me, "The deer with the biggest set of antlers is the hardest to find because he doesn’t just walk out in front of you."  In other words, the deer doesn’t go where the hunter goes.  He seeks those places that are safe.

Let’s all move to New Mexico and have big antlers.
