Spent a little time in Decatur as I delivered a load on Monday, then went across the street and picked up another oversize load going to Texas.

The yard in Decatur is full of heavy machines.  The shipper uses heavy straddle cranes to lift the loads and place them on your trailer.

After I had my turn to get loaded, Rosie and I went to the nearest truck stop and got our permits to move.

The load puts Rosie and I at 79,000 pounds and 11 feet wide.

This load is the chassis section of a Cat 777 heavy haul dump truck like the one shown in the small picture.

The other parts to this machine are on 3 other trucks, all headed to Texas.
